Every endeavor unfolds in a changing world. A company, a city, a technology, a social movement, a public policy, even a community or institution, moves forward under the influence of forces such as capital, institutions, environment, people, technology, and support.

Sometimes those forces reinforce one another. Sometimes they collide. At certain moments, their interaction creates a decisive period when an endeavor must Persevere, Adapt, Venture in a new direction, or decline.

WHAT HAPPENS Next? is a way to explore those moments.

 

Choose an endeavor and a point of view. We’ll organize the story by Epochs, trace the forces shaping the story, identify important turning points, and explore paths that might have led somewhere different. This is not prediction, and it is not a claim that history has a single correct interpretation. Point of View matters. Try different viewpoints; the same development may represent progress to one group and loss to another.​​
